Pretzels

Someone knocked on the door of Elsie's office and entered, interrupting her reading. She gave the offender her best death glare over the top of her book, thinking it was Cross. Only the person standing there wasn't who she expected. "Oh...it's you Mana. I thought it was Cross again." She brushed some of her crazy hair out of her face with a hand before sitting up. "What are you doing here?"

"I brought pretzels," he said with a grin, showing off his paper sack of baked goodness. She broke into a broad grin and put her book down. "I'll take one of those, thank you very much," she said with a laugh, accepting the soft pretzels from Mana. Elsie inhaled the warm scent under her nose before biting into the soft pretzel. The savory flavor made her mouth water as she chewed slowly, enjoying the meal. That was really thoughtful of him, he probably knew that she hadn't planned on grabbing anything to eat that day.
